Bartender can be started with command line parameters in your shortcut, to automate the label process. This way, the average user cannot edit the lay-out itself. This does not apply to labels integrated with Pick-IT processes, but to starting Bartender labels independently.
Sample of a Bartender shortcut:"C:\Program Files\Bar Tender 8.0\Bartend.exe" "F:\data\labels\SSCC01.btw" /P /XS
Following items should be used in the shortcut:
1. the shortcut to Bartender itself, so Bartender must be installed2. the shortcut to the label, preferably on a server share3. the command line parameters
These are the most commonly used parameters:
[/F=]label name
the label name to use, /F is optional
/P
start printing the label after opening (with dialogue screens if programmed)
/PD
start printing after using the printer dialogue screen (if you want to change printer or to use print preview)
/PRN="printer name"
use a specific printer instead of the printer saved with the label
/X
exit after printing, without saving the label
/XS
exit after printing, save the label (this is necessary when the label uses serialization)
/P /XS
combination of parameters: print and exit with saving
The complete list of parameters can be viewed in Bartender help, by selecting:- Automating Bartender- Automation with the command line interface- Overview- Complete list of command line parameters
Please note: Bartender is not an Exact product, but third-party software (www.seagullscientific.com) to design and generate barcode labels.
